When you book with Best of Scotland Tours you will have read, understood & accepted the terms and conditions.
Terms and Conditions
The contract is between the Guest/s and Best of Scotland Tours. All guiding fees and conditions should be agreed between the customer and Best of Scotland Tours prior to the commencement of the tour.
Best of Scotland Tours Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policy apply to all tours booked through the Best of Scotland Tours booking service unless explicitly stated otherwise for your booking.
Luggage: Guest/s are limited to one medium sized suitcase per person. Any additional luggage not declared during the booking process will only taken at the drivers discretion. Luggage is conveyed at the owners’ own risk.
Child Seats: Best of Scotland Tours do not provide child seats on our tours. It is the legal responsibility of the guest/s to provide the appropriate child seats for a travelling child that complies with current Scottish legislation. https://www.gov.uk/child-car-seats-the-rules
Currency: All quotes and transactions are in £ GBP.
Entrances to paid venues or attractions etc. are not included in fees. Best of Scotland Tours can book tickets for groups of any size to hundreds of venues across Scotland, on request.
Fees quoted do not include overnight accommodation or meals for guides, unless stated otherwise.
For walking tours of 20-25 pax = 1 guide, more than this additional guide(s) are required. To maintain group safety and quality of our tours at all times on walking tours we recommend that the group size is limited to a maximum of 25 per guide.
How to Pay
Payments may be paid by the following methods:
Bank Transfer/PayPal: Payments, in advance. Travellers are responsible for ensuring payment in full, in GBP, also covering any bank charges. Overseas payments may attract bank charges (these are approx £7-£10 from European country & £10- £15 from Non European countries) which must be met by the client.
Full Day Tours: On day tours lasting more than 8 hours, a supplementary payment for each additional hour may be payable.
Half Day Tours: On half day tours lasting more than 4 hours, or ending after 1300hrs, a supplementary payment for each additional hour may be payable.
Extended Tours: There will be an additional overnight subsistence charge to cover the guides bed & breakfast, and evening meal.
Overtime work and expenses to be negotiated prior to departure.
Travelling expenses: To be negotiated, e.g. to a pick-up point or from drop-off point.
Best of Scotland Tours strongly recommends that passengers arrange for themselves suitable travel, medical, and cancellation insurance.
All deposits are non-refundable.
Full Day Tours: If less than 28 days notice is given, a fee of 50% will be payable. Full fee is payable if the tour is cancelled less than 14 days prior to tour date.
Half Day Tours: If less than 28 days notice is given, a fee of 50% will be payable. Full fee is payable if the tour is cancelled less than 14 days prior to tour date.
Extended Tours*: If less than 28 days notice is given, a fee of 50% will be payable. Full fee is payable if the tour is cancelled less than 14 days prior to tour date.
Half Day & Day Tours: If cancelled up to 28 days before the tour begins the full fee can be refunded less the 20% deposit.
*An extended tour is a tour which lasts for more than one day.
Best of Scotland Tours cannot accept liability for losses or additional expenses incurred due to delays or change in transportation (air, rail, sea or other services), technical problems to transport, sickness, weather, strike or other causes which are outside our control.
Should Best of Scotland Tours have to cancel your booking for any unforeseen reasons any monies already received will be refunded in full.
Best of Scotland Tours will not accept liability for any expenses over and above this.
In the event of the guide allocated to you becoming unavailable, all efforts will be made to find you a suitable professional guide to accompany you.
